You need to be good at math to get your degree. In industry, you can choose the amount of math you want to do: Be a systems engineer who only does arithmetic in Excel, or get into analysis (GNC, Loads/Dynamics, other specialty fields) where you’ll be using concepts from the more advanced math subjects daily. It’s all dependent on what you want.Well. I studied Electronic engineering and I had a lot of math in the university. To be honest, I was not good on it neither liked it to much. But I can say that I'm a quite successfully software engineer. In my opinion you don't need to study/like too much math to be a good software engineer. Most electrical engineering courses are just pure math (calculus, trig, linear algebra, numerical methods, complex variables, etc), if you are not good at math you'll have a hard time getting through. Like I said, I'm average.
